President Trump Signs Executive Order to Protect Female Sports, Private Spaces
Today, President Donald Trump signed an executive order aimed at preventing males from competing in women’s sports and accessing female private spaces. The order directs the Departments of Education and Justice to enforce Title IX anti-discrimination provisions on the basis of biological sex as well as instructing other agencies to take action on the issue.
American Principles Project (APP) President Terry Schilling was present at the White House for the signing of the order. APP has been active in pressing for women’s sports protections since 2019, and its affiliated super PAC ran campaign ads on the issue in several swing states this past election.
Schilling released the following statement cheering the president’s action:
“Today is a great day for women and girls in America!
“For years, women have watched as their rights and privileges came under assault from the far left and their Democrat allies. Sports leagues and locker rooms which were supposed to be their own were invaded by males claiming to be female, and leaders who should have stepped in to prevent it instead stood back and even cheered as these injustices took place. Meanwhile, women and girls were injured in competition, lost out on trophies and scholarships, and were exposed to men in their intimate spaces. Most outrageously, much of this was done in the name of obeying Title IX and other laws originally passed to protect women.
“But now, this travesty is finally ending. Thanks to the unwavering leadership of President Trump, our federal government will once again be acting to protect women and girls instead of undermining them. We applaud the president for taking this momentous step to protect female athletics and private spaces, and we look forward to working with his administration and Congress to ensure that these protections are made permanent.”
