Pornhub is a global pornography empire. Last year, Pornhub attracted 42 billion site visits and generated tens of millions of dollars in the U.S.
However, Pornhub’s profits have come at a price.
As Senator Ben Sasse (R-Neb.) outlined in a recent letter to DOJ, Pornhub has distributed unauthorized videos and images depicting sexual abuse and violence as well as other criminal acts.
In addition, Pornhub’s refusal to implement age verification safeguards has exposed millions of children to sexually explicit videos. And they even refuse to verify the ages of content producers. This is an explicit violation of the law.
Pornhub is a clear and present danger to American children. Why does the DOJ turn a blind-eye to this behavior? What will it take for our nation’s law enforcement to take action?
We call on the DOJ to confront this crisis and, at the very least, launch a criminal investigation into Pornhub’s complicity in these crimes.
(Disclaimer: The American Principles Project is not affiliated with Laila Micklwait or the Traffickinghub petition that is calling for the US Department of Justice to shut down Pornhub and hold its executives accountable for aiding trafficking. That petition can be found at Traffickinghub.com.)
No one is above the law — especially the world’s largest pornography website. It’s time to hold Pornhub accountable.
