WASHINGTON — Today, American Principles Project (APP) launched a new database, “Funding Insanity,” providing a detailed overview of federal spending on programs advancing far-left gender ideology under the Biden-Harris administration.

According to the analysis, over the previous four years, the federal government doled out over $174 million in grants and contracts for projects to promote radical ideas on gender both domestically and abroad. Agencies involved in the spending spree included the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID), the Department of Defense, and the Department of Health and Human Services, among many others.

Just a few of the noteworthy projects funded include:

• $1,929,783 from USAID to the American Bar Association to “shield” the “LGBTQI+ population in the Western Balkans”
• $1,065,702 from USAID to the Bandhu Social Welfare Society for an activity to support “gender diverse people” in Bangladesh
• $1,000,000 from the Department of the Interior to the New York State Office of Parks, Recreation, & Historic Preservation, in part, to convert men’s and women’s bathrooms into gender neutral ones at Letchworth State Park
• $850,000 in contracts from the Department of Defense to explore “racial, ethnic, and gender disparities in the military justice system”
• $600,000 from the Department of Agriculture to Southern University A&M to study menstrual cycles in “transgender men and people with masculine gender identities, intersex, and non-binary persons”
• $349,399.79 in contracts from the Department of Defense to research reports on undermining authoritarian regimes using gender
• $229,637.91 in contracts from the Department of Agriculture to a “Brazil forest and gender consultant”
• $24,970 from the State Department to premier the Vagina Monologues in Gujarati language in Mumbai and Ahmedabad, India
• $21,631 from the State Department to train 50 “LGBTQI” refugees in Kenya on “barbering, hairdressing, beauty therapy and cosmetology, food production, and computer programming”
• $2,315 from the State Department to teach English to “professional transgender women makeup entrepreneurs” in Nepal

APP President Terry Schilling released the following statement on the effort:

“When Americans pay their taxes every year, they expect that money to go towards projects that help them: strengthening our national defense, building and upgrading infrastructure, protecting our natural resources, etc. However, in recent years Democrats have been using public funds to instead push their radical gender agenda here at home and around the world. Hundreds of millions of dollars have been squandered on programs promoting the idea that human biology doesn’t matter. Nothing could better exemplify the disgusting corruption that has taken hold of Washington.

“Fortunately, that corruption is finally coming to an end. Last November, the American people gave Donald Trump a clear mandate to drain the swamp, and since taking office he has acted decisively to do so along with Elon Musk and the newly formed Department of Government Efficiency. We hope President Trump, Musk and DOGE will find this information useful as they work to root out the far left’s ideological waste and instead return our government to its true purpose: service for the good of all Americans.”
