APP Applauds Trump’s Nomination of Stephen Moore to Fed Board of Governors

March 22, 2019

WASHINGTON – Today, President Donald Trump announced he will be nominating economist Stephen Moore to serve on the Federal Reserve Board of Governors, filling one of two currently vacant seats on the board. Moore is currently a Distinguished Visiting Fellow at the Heritage Foundation and has also served on the editorial board for The Wall Street Journal and as a senior economist for the Joint Economic Committee in the U.S. Congress.

In response to the news, Terry Schilling, executive director of American Principles Project, released the following statement:

“Stephen Moore is an exceptional choice to serve on the Fed Board of Governors. Over his career, Moore has proven to be one of the sharpest minds in the economic realm and has garnered a great deal of respect for his wide-ranging work. One would be hard pressed to find a better qualified nominee for this important role.

“We commend President Trump for choosing Moore for this position, and we urge the Senate to confirm him without delay.”
