House Passes Bill to Protect Women and Girl Athletes
Today, the U.S. House of Representatives passed H.R. 28, the Protection of Women and Girls in Sports Act, by a vote of 218-206.
The legislation would amend Title IX to prohibit educational institutions receiving federal funds from allowing biological males to compete in female athletics.
In response, Terry Schilling, president of American Principles Project (APP), released the following statement celebrating the bill’s passage:
“Last fall, voters handed Republicans control of Congress and the White House with a mandate to reverse the far left’s radical cultural agenda, and particularly its gender insanity. Today, the House took the first step to delivering on that mandate.
“The passage of this bill is an important victory for families across the country. Allowing males to compete in female sports is obviously both unfair and dangerous to women and girl athletes. That’s why the vast majority of Americans are in agreement on this issue virtually every time it’s polled.
“We commend Speaker Mike Johnson, Congressman Greg Steube, and the many other leaders who have been pivotal to advancing this legislation. Now it’s time for the Senate to do its job and get this bill to President Trump’s desk.”
