APP Condemns Wis. Gov. Evers for Vetoing Ban on Sex Changes for Minors
Today, Wisconsin Governor Tony Evers vetoed AB 465, legislation which would have prohibited the administration of puberty-blocking drugs and hormones and the performance of surgeries on minors for the purpose of attempting to alter their sex. Twenty-one states have restricted these procedures in some capacity.
In response, Terry Schilling, president of American Principles Project (APP), released the following statement blasting Evers’ decision:
“The transgender industry’s predation on American children is the biggest medical scandal of our lifetimes. As more and more detransitioners come forward, the devastation inflicted on this generation is becoming ever clearer: thousands of individuals with permanent health problems, missing body parts, and lifelong regret, all because our medical establishment refuses to treat a mental health crisis with actual mental healthcare.
“However, rather than protect Wisconsin children and families from this ongoing catastrophe, Governor Evers has instead sided with the insane ideologues who deny the obvious truth of biology. Unfortunately, such cravenness has become the norm for most Democrat leaders, which is why we will be working to defeat as many of them as possible this coming election.
“In the meantime, it is important that Republicans, and in particular Republican candidates, take a strong stand to protect kids and at a minimum, support a federal ban on sex changes for minors in order to extend those protections nationwide. Anything less would be a disservice to American families.”
