Washington, D.C. – Following the Senate Judiciary Committee’s vote to confirm President Trump’s Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh, American Principles Project executive director Terry Schilling released the following statement:

“After an exhausting week of hyperbole and vicious attacks, we applaud the Senate Judiciary Committee for advancing Judge Brett Kavanaugh’s nomination. Now, it’s time for the full Senate to confirm Kavanaugh without further significant delay.

“Although an FBI investigation appears unnecessary, given the total lack of corroborating evidence to the allegations against Judge Kavanaugh, if there must be an investigation, it should be focused on one thing only: direct corroboration of Kavanaugh’s involvement in the alleged incident described by Dr. Ford. If this is not found by next Friday, the Senate should conclude the matter and vote immediately to confirm.

“Judge Kavanaugh is an eminently qualified nominee and a good man. He will make an excellent Supreme Court justice.”
