American Principles Project Welcomes Paula Scanlan as Senior Fellow
WASHINGTON — American Principles Project (APP) proudly announces that Paula Scanlan is joining the organization as a Senior Fellow. Scanlan brings a powerful voice and compelling perspective to APP’s mission to protect women’s sports.
Paula Scanlan is a courageous advocate for women’s sports and free speech, widely recognized for her principled stand as a former NCAA swimmer at the University of Pennsylvania. A 2022 graduate, Scanlan competed on the women’s swimming and diving team, where she experienced firsthand the challenges posed by policies allowing biological males to compete in women’s sports. In 2023, inspired by her fellow female athletes, she broke her silence and shared the emotional and psychological toll of these policies and the attempts by university administrators to suppress dissent. Her testimony has galvanized a national conversation about fairness, safety, and protecting women’s spaces.
In her role at APP, Scanlan will focus on advancing policies safeguarding women’s sports and private spaces, defunding the woke transgender agenda, and countering ideological pressures in education and public life. She will also contribute to APP’s research, public outreach, and coalition-building efforts to amplify the voices of those advocating for fairness and freedom.
“Paula Scanlan’s courage and clarity in addressing critical issues facing women and families align perfectly with APP’s mission,” said Terry Schilling, President of the American Principles Project. “Her experience and commitment to truth will strengthen our efforts to protect women’s sports across our country. We are honored to have her join us as a Senior Fellow.”
“I am excited to join the American Principles Project and work alongside a team dedicated to defending the values that make our nation strong,” said Paula Scanlan. “Together, we can protect women’s rights, preserve the integrity of our institutions, and ensure that every voice is heard.”
