APP Calls on Senate to Confirm Judy Shelton to Fed Board
WASHINGTON — The Senate is reportedly preparing to vote early next week on President Trump’s nomination of Judy Shelton to the Federal Reserve Board of Governors. Trump first nominated Shelton in July of 2019.
In response, Terry Schilling, executive director of American Principles Project, released the following statement urging the Senate to confirm Shelton:
Sixteen months. That’s how long Judy Shelton’s nomination has been languishing in the Senate. But while it’s unfortunate that it’s taken so long to get here, a vote next week would certainly be better late than never.
Shelton is an eminently qualified nominee who would bring a much-needed, fresh perspective to an increasingly insular Fed. APP fully supports her nomination, and we urge the Senate to vote to confirm her as soon as possible.
In September, APP Chairman Sean Fieler laid out the case for Judy Shelton in an op-ed for The Federalist. You can read the full piece here.
