APP Slams Democrat “Contraception” Bill as a Trojan Horse for Child Sex Changes
Today, American Principles Project (APP) announced its opposition to Senate Democrats’ “Right to Contraception Act.” The legislation is expected to be called for a vote this week.
As written, the bill could be construed to prevent healthcare providers from denying children sterilizing sex-change procedures, including puberty-blocking drugs and genital surgeries. The legislation would also eliminate religious freedom protections for healthcare providers.
In response, APP President Terry Schilling released the following statement urging senators to vote against the bill:
“Here we go again with the Democrats’ favorite playbook. They introduce a policy ostensibly to advance some popular goal — but in the details lurks a radical change which the vast majority of Americans oppose.
“In this case, the so-called ‘Right to Contraception Act’ is actually a trojan horse for a very sinister aim: to establish in federal law a right for minors to undergo sterilizing sex-change procedures. While Democrats will of course deny this, the opening in the text is plain as day. And all it will take is one far-left judge to interpret it this way for every state-level protection for gender-confused kids to be completely wiped out.
“This dangerous legislation cannot be allowed to move forward. Given the increasing amount of destruction being wrought by the transgender industry, the stakes could not be higher. For this reason, we strongly urge all senators to oppose this bill.”
