SCOTUS Rules that Kids Are Safe from Dangerous Transgender Agenda

June 18, 2025

WASHINGTON — Today, the U.S. Supreme Court upheld Tennessee’s law prohibiting transgender procedures for minors in United States v. Skrmetti. In October 2024, American Principles Project (APP) filed an amicus brief urging the court to rule in favor of children and families who are under constant attack from the left’s gender insanity.

Tennessee’s statute bans the administration of puberty blockers, gender transition surgeries, and cross-sex hormones to minors. Studies have found that up to 95% of children who experience gender dysphoria resolve those feelings by the time they are adults. Accordingly, 26 states have joined Tennessee in passing similar legislation. This decision will protect children across the country from these horrific, life-changing procedures.

Terry Schilling, President of American Principles Project, released the following statement on SCOTUS’ decision:

“Today’s decision is a huge victory for children and families across the country. Our children should not be subjected to the dangerous trans agenda that is hellbent on destroying their futures, and thankfully, the Supreme Court agrees. Now, lawmakers can continue eradicating the ‘Gender Industrial Complex,’ knowing the Supreme Court has their backs. This ruling is about more than just politics. It’s a battle in the ongoing war over the American family, and we have a decisive victory.”
