Summary
This bill would prevent Medicaid, Medicare, the Children’s Health Insurance Program, and the Affordable Care Act from covering transgender surgeries. The bill would also prohibit claiming gender transition procedures as tax-deductible medical expenses.
Goals
- End gender mutilation procedures.
- Prevent taxpayer dollars from funding the gender transition regime.
- Preserve the dignity and well-being of both children and adults who would otherwise seek gender-mutilating procedures.
Analysis
Transgender ideology is anti-science, anti-truth, and anti-child, and Americans overwhelmingly agree that taxpayer dollars should not fund its corresponding procedures. Taxpayers should, therefore, never be forced to fund dangerous and irreversible gender transition surgeries. The No Subsidies for Gender Transition Procedures Act works toward this end by applying to both adults and minors and to as many federal funding streams as possible. This would ensure that no American taxpayer will be forced to subsidize any gender-mutilating procedures, regardless of the age of the individual seeking any such procedure.
